You
will find me sprinkled gently throughout this site. I’m
a late bloomer of sorts. I decided after several years of
marriage and two children—and running a web design and
online marketing company—to enter college.
I bumped around campus with a much younger crowd but I was
grounded in my family and I learned that I loved being an
entrepreneur. However, everything around me said “what
are you going to do after graduation?” So, I went after
a childhood dream, law school.
Law school altered my life significantly. I learned, quickly,
that pushing papers was not what I’m called to do in
this life. So I did some soul searching. I had to determine
where my experience and passion would feel fulfilled and happy.
And most of all, my family was my greatest priority.
While I figured things out my husband and I continued to
work with our web design business. I realized that many business
owners know very little about the power of online marketing.
I mean, they know about the need to have an online presence.
But beyond that many are clueless or they don’t care
to know. (And that’s perfectly okay.)
This knowledge brought about my creation of Nia Promotions.
I assist small businesses and fellow entrepreneurs with virtually
promoting their services or products online. But as an additional
service we include offline promotions as well. Nia Virtual
Book Tours is one of tailored services offered through Nia
Promotions.
Nia Virtual Book Tours came about after watching many bookstores
that cater to African-American authors close. I became so
frustrated with walking through the isle of other book stores
and not finding titles to browse and consider. So, I continued
to read my favorites but I rarely learned of other authors.
I too am an avid reader of African-American literature. For
example, I enjoy reading African-American historical romance
and fiction—especially since I read a lot of technical
information daily. I too like to get away.
When I curl up on my couch with the latest historical romance,
I’m thrown back in time to the early twentieth century—horse
riding, gun fights, strong heroines, dedicated and loving
heroes. And for that period of time I’m not Dana.
I welcome you to our site. We aspire that you too will experience
what your heart’s desire. But above all, we hope you
find a good book to read. And share it with others.
God Bless,

Dana Pittman, JD
