Anita Bunkley is the author of eleven book-length
works of fiction, three novellas, and one work of
non-fiction. Her latest releases are:

2008)
She is a full time author and has been under contract
with major houses such as Penguin USA, Harper Collins,
Kensington and Harlequin for over sixteen years.
She is currently nominated
for a Lifetime Career Award from Romantic Times Magazine.
In March 2004, she was inducted into the TEXAS INSTITUTE
OF LETTERS, and was an NAACP Image Award nominee in
2000 for her contribution to the anthology, GIRLFRIENDS.
She is a lifetime member of
the Houston Writers Council, a member the River Oaks
Business Women's Exchange Club, Circle-Let's Inc., an
honorary member of Top Ladies of Distinction, active
member of Between The Lines book club, and a member
of First United Methodist Church.
Many of her books have appeared
in Literary Digest, Doubleday Book Club, Black Expressions
Book Club, and on Essence magazine's Black Board: African
American Best-seller list in both hardcover and paperback.
She has been a teacher of English, French, and Spanish
in both public and private schools, a director with
the American Red Cross, and was a writer-in-residence
with Houston's Writers in the Schools Program. She toured
with African American Women on Tour for four years.
Anita speaks regularly at national
conferences, workshops, and book fairs giving her workshop
for aspiring novelists entitled: Dream it! Write
it! Sell it! She has mentored several novice
writers to national publication.
Anita has traveled to Cairo,
Egypt to speak to the Egyptian Women's Writers Association
at Ains Sham University and to Ghuanzou, China to interview
romance writer, Eboni Snoe.
A native of Columbus, Ohio,
Anita holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Union
College, Alliance, Ohio. She lives in Houston, Texas
with her husband, Crawford. She is represented by Denise
